Nurse Midwife practice is the management of women's primary healthcare. It focuses on pregnancy,
childbirth, the post-partum period, newborn care, family planning and gynecological needs of women
of all ages. Most Nurse Midwife attended births occur in hospitals.
Paige W. McNally, RN, CNM, received her Associate Degree in nursing from the College of St.
Catherine's, Minneapolis campus in 1993. Since 1993 Paige has been teaching childbirth
classes on and off and worked at Stevens-Traverse Public Health for two years. She received
her BSN from Moorhead State in 2001. Paige then attended Midwifery school at the Frontier
School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, KY. After her schooling, Paige served her
clinical rotation at the Broadway Medical Center in Alexandria, MN. Paige also worked at
the United Hospital in St. Paul, MN in the labor and delivery unit for three years where they
have 4,500 births per year, before coming to SCMC in November of 2003. Paige is a member of
the American College of Nurse Midwives and is a certified lactation counselor.
Paige and her husband Shaun have four children, Dillon, Moira, Abigael and Flynn, and they have
resided in Chokio since 1996.
